Taiwo Awoniyi's loan move from European champions Liverpool to Mainz is now complete following a successful medical, informs the official website of the Bundesliga outfit.
The Nigeria U23 international will be spending the whole of the 2019-2020 season on loan at Mainz.
According to German publication Kicker, Mainz and Liverpool agreed a loan fee of 500,000 euros.
Commenting on his transfer, Awoniyi said to Mainz's official website : ''I am looking forward to my time at Mainz 05. The talks with those responsible were very good and I was warmly received by all of them here.
''The Bundesliga is one of the top European leagues and I am grateful that I am to prove myself here."
Awoniyi will begin training with his new teammates on Thursday afternoon at Bruchweg.
The 21-year-old previously spent time on loan at FSV Frankfurt, NEC, Royal Excel Mouscron and Gent.
