Official : Omar Sowunmi Signs One - Year Deal With Yeovil Town
Through official channels, League Two side Yeovil Town have announced the signing of Anglo- Nigerian defender Omar Sowunmi, who was on the books of Ipswich Town last season.<br /><br />The 19 - year - old has been offered a one - year contract by <i>The Glovers</i> after impressing manager Paul Sturrock in a trial game staged at Huish Park.<br /><br />Speaking on his new acquisition, Sturrock told the club’s official website : “Omar stood out for me in the trial match we held at Huish Park. <br /><br />“He is only 19-years-old and very mature for his age. He will certainly benefit a lot by working alongside Terry Skiverton.<br /><br />“I feel he will have a very successful career and I am excited about him signing for Yeovil Town.”<br /><br />Born in Colchester, Omar Sowunmi has stated that he will not turn down the opportunity to play for Nigeria if he’s handed a call - up.<br /><br />Photo Credit : itfc.co.uk<br />
