Arsenal have signed Nigeria youth international Semi Ajayi on a two - year contract, the player, himself has announced.<br /><br />The 19 - year - old defender, touted in some quarters as the &lsquo;Next Sol Campbell&rsquo;, impressed the Gunners chiefs during trials and has been rewarded with a contract which keeps him at the Emirates until 2015.<br /><br />Semi Ajayi said on Twitter :&ldquo;Delighted to announce that I have officially signed for @Arsenal FC. Can&rsquo;t wait to see what the next two seasons here have in store for me. <br /><br />&ldquo;It was sad to end my ten year spell with Charlton this summer but I can&rsquo;t speak highly enough of all of the wonderful people I met during my ten years there.<br /><br />&ldquo;I wish all those at @CAFCofficial the best for the future as I will always have a soft spot for the club and its fans.&rdquo;<br /><br />The center back trained with Norwich City this summer but failed to agree terms with the club. <br /><br />
