With a statement on their official website, English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Nigeria-eligible attacker Kion Etete has been recalled from his loan spell at League Two club Northampton Town.
The 20-year-old has departed the Cobblers after netting six goals in twenty three appearances across all competitions.
Etete signed a contract extension with Tottenham Hotspur before heading to Northampton Town on loan.
Manager of Northampton Town, Jon Brady has revealed that the Anglo-Nigerian is set to continue his development at an unnamed League One club for the remainder of the season.
"This news is obviously a blow to us but Kion has developed so well over the last few months with us that Spurs want to see him play at the next level up sooner than originally expected," Brady told the club's official website.
"We understand that Spurs received an offer from a Championship club to buy Kion but have no intention of selling, however they feel he now needs to be playing in League One for his continued development."
Etete joined Tottenham Hotspur from Notts County in 2019 and is credited with nine goals in 25 outings in the Premier League 2.
