Osimhen is on fire : Napoli striker scores for fourth game in a row, wins penalty vs Cagliari

Victor Osimhen was the star performer for Napoli as they registered a 2-0 win over Cagliari in a Serie A match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples on Sunday night.

Despite drawing the eyes and attention of the Cagliari defenders, Osimhen once again showed why Napoli paid big bucks to sign him from Lille for a club record fee in 2020.

Just as he did against Udinese and Sampdoria, the Super Eagles striker was responsible for scoring the opener, putting his team in front when he tapped in from six yards out after a ball was rolled into the box by Zielinski in the 11th minute.

In doing so, the Napoli number 9 has found the back of the net in four consecutive matches in all competitions, a run that began in the Europa League tie against Leicester City on September 16.

Osimhen was the protagonist when referee Marco Piccinini pointed to the spot in the 57th minute, he was brought down by the experienced Diego Godin.

Lorenzo Insigne stepped up and fired the ball down the middle to give Napoli a comfortable two-goal lead.

Man of the moment, Osimhen who has tallied six goals in his last four matches, was replaced with thirteen minutes left on the clock.
