Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick has visited the Watford training ground where he met with six Nigerian players on the books of the Hornets.
Team Nigeria UK has uploaded two photos to his Instagram page, showing the football administrator with Super Eagles players Oghenekaro Etebo, William Troost-Ekong, Isaac Success and Emmanuel Dennis, as well as Nigeria U23 international Tom Dele-Bashiru and Dapo Mebude.
A seventh Nigerian player in winger Joseph Hungbo, who is on the periphery of Watford's first team having made five appearances in the Championship in 2020-2021, was not pictured with Pinnick.
The amiable Watford sporting director Cristiano Giaretta was also photographed with the Nigerian Federation boss.
The highlight of the photo was Glasgow Rangers academy product Mebude all smiles as he posed for the camera.
Born in London, the highly-rated young winger is eligible to represent the senior national teams of three countries, namely Nigeria, Scotland and England, but is provisionally cap-tied to the Scottish Football Association.
It is unclear at this point if Pinnick, a staunch advocate of dual-eligible players, attempted to recruit Mebude for the Super Eagles.
Just like last season, when Nigerian football fans picked Fulham as their second supported team due to the presence of Ola Aina, Josh Onomah, Tosin Adarabioyo, Ademola Lookman and Josh Maja, Watford will be well supported when they begin their Premier League campaign next month.
