In what was supposed to be a straightforward home win, Rangers dropped points at home for the first time since March 2020 after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Motherwell on Sunday.
Kaiyne Woolery blasted the ball into the net in the 66th minute to cancel out Fashion Sakala's first half opener.
Joe Aribo was the only Nigerian player on parade at Ibrox Stadium with teammates Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey watching proceedings from the bench.
The Super Eagles midfielder provided the assist for the only goal netted by the Light Blues and came close to grabbing a winner in second half stoppage-time but saw his shot deflected by a teammate, Alfredo Morelos.
On a positive note, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was impressed by the display of Aribo and his midfield partners despite their run of home wins coming to an end.
Speaking to Rangers TV post-match, the former Liverpool captain stated : "No-one will remember. We're at Rangers. I thought Joe Aribo, Glen Kamara, Steven Davis, a lot of players from box to box today played some incredible stuff.
"Our preparation to build the attacks was up there with the best we've had but when you get past the box you need someone to find those moments of quality to create goals, to assist goals and then to go score them......"
Despite the draw, Rangers are top of the Premiership standings with 13 points from six games, one point ahead of Hibernian and Hearts.
