Portland Timbers DP Fanendo Adi Continues To Set Records In Major League Soccer
Fanendo Adi notched his fourth goal of the season as Portland Timbers played out a 1-1 draw with LA Galaxy at the StubHub Center on Sunday evening in Major League Soccer.<br /><br />Thanks to his 52nd minute goal, the Designated Player entered the history books by equaling the record for the most goals scored by a Timbers player against a Major League Soccer team.<br /><br />Fanendo Adi has played down the feat, saying it would not have been possible if not for his teammates and also claimed that he was lucky.<br /><br />“You just focus on the game and come to play. Maybe I’m lucky, but I think our team played well and created chances, so the goals come,” said Fanendo Adi, according to timbers.com.<br /><br />Since joining from FC Copenhagen, Adi has bagged five goals another MLS team, Real Salt Lake.<br /><br />Ifeanyi Emmanuel<br />
