PSV Eindhoven are sweating over the fitness of flamboyant winger Nonso Madueke ahead of their upcoming clash against Heerenveen on Sunday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The former Tottenham Hotspur youth teamer had to be substituted in the 38th minute of PSV's 1-0 win at Granada in the Europa League on Thursday due to injury.
He was playing through the pain barrier and couldn't continue when he went down a second time, leading to manager Roger Schmidt replacing him with 33-year-old Zahavi.
Madueke has been a key player for PSV in the Eredivisie in the new season, scoring 4 goals and setting up three others to help them climb to third in the table.
The 24-time Dutch champions have not yet released an update on the severity of the injury suffered by their number 23 and whether he will be able to feature against Heerenveen.
An England U18 international, Madueke is believed to be on the radar of Super Eagles chief scout in Europe Tunde Adelakun with a view to a possible call-up to the national team if he switches his allegiance to Nigeria.
