Former Chelsea captain Andy Townsend has hailed Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis following his brilliant goal for Watford in their 5-2 rout of Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Toffees, with Alex Iwobi, on the pitch were leading 2-1 but lost concentration and switched off, conceding four goals in the last thirteen minutes of the contest.
After coming off the bench to replace Ismaïla Sarr, Dennis made a huge impact on the game, setting up two of the goals scored by Joshua King and capped off a brilliant display with Watford's fifth goal in the first minute of stoppage time.
The lively Nigeria international wrapped up the scoring when he received a pass from João Pedro and slotted into the bottom corner.
Speaking on Premier League Productions shortly after the game, Townsend said : "Dennis finishes this one really well, he puts Seamus Coleman on the floor and then again puts the goalkeeper down to one side and rolls it into an empty net.
"An amazing turnaround. 2-1 down with 12-13 minutes to go and end up scoring five. Incredible."
With his three goal involvements against the Toffees, Dennis, a summer signing from Club Brugge, has now directly participated in six goals (3 goals, 3 assists) in nine Premier League outings.
