Ikechukwu Uche Eyes National Team Recall
Villarreal striker Ikechukwu Uche has targeted a return to the National Team, possibly in September when Nigeria hosts the Flames of Malawi in a World Cup qualifier.

Since the Super Eagles triumph at the African Cup of Nations, the 29 - year - old has not been considered by manager Stephen Keshi.

Despite experiencing a purple patch with the Yellow Submarine, for whom he netted 14 goals in 32 matches last term, he was overlooked when Keshi named his Confederations Cup roster.

Punchng.com quoted the former Granada ace as saying: '' The most important thing for me is to play regularly for my club.

''I’m happy my colleagues (Eagles) are doing well and they will continue to have my support.

''But I will work hard to return to the team.''

It is not a secret that the Nigeria attack has struggled in recent matches, without the experience of Ikechukwu Kalu.

Discounting the victory over part timers Tahiti, the Super Eagles have scored a paltry 6 goals in their last 6 matches.

It is worthy of note that only two goals were recorded by attackers - Brown Ideye (Mexico) and Ahmed Musa (Kenya).
