Vincent Enyeama Is Number One At Lille
Published: July 31, 2013Nigeria custodian Vincent Enyeama will be the numero uno for French club Lille this coming season, and that means manager Rene Girard has relegated Steeve Elana to the bench.
It would be recalled that the experienced Super Eagles goalkeeper rejected a return to Maccabi Tel Aviv this summer, insisting that he will fight for a first team shirt at Lille.
And Vincent Enyeama's patience has been rewarded in the end after being told by the manager that he would not sit on the bench.
'' Vincent Enyeama (30 years) will be the number one goalkeeper of Lille next season,'' writes French sports daily L'Equipe on its website.
Enyeama was offered a salary of 1.65 million euros (net) to sign a three - year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv but the Nigerian decided to see out the final year of his contract at Lille
