Complete Sports: Nigeria Skipper Joseph Yobo Says He Was Not Fined By Fenerbahce
Published: September 27, 2013It was earlier reported that substantive Nigeria skipper Joseph Yobo was fined US$10,000 for arriving late to training.
Sports daily Complete Sports has been doing some digging and now writes on its website that those reports which emanated from the Turkish media are far from reality.
“It was embarrassing for me to read that I was fined for reporting late to training when such never happened,” Yobo told the newspaper.
Adding to his previous statement, the 33 - year - old Fenerbahce center back said:
“I’m fully fit and ready to play but I’ve been warned to be careful about my return to action since there are still lots of games to beplayed in the season.”
Joseph Yobo has been frozen out of the Nigeria squad since the African Cup of Nations, after a well publicized dispute with manager Stephen Keshi.
