President Goodluck Jonathan was the surprise visitor at the Super Eagles training in Addis Ababa on Saturday.
The President, who is currently in Ethiopia attending the Golden Jubilee meeting of the African Union, tasked the players to remain focused, stating that Nigerians expect the team to be in the mundial.
“I am sure that you will not only qualify for the World Cup, but we are going there not to add up the numbers but to make an impact at the championship,” said the President.
The Super Eagles will qualify for the 2014 World Cup if they defeat Ethiopia over two legs.
Nigeria has represented Africa in four of the last five World Cups - 1994, 1998, 2002 and 2010.
