Stephen Makinwa Reveals He Tested With Crystal Palace
Published: October 18, 2013Former Nigeria international Stephen Makinwa has commented on the rationale behind the contract he signed with Chinese club Beijing Baxy.
Recall that the 30 - year - old attacker penned a one- and - a - half year contract with the capital club in July, which ended his 12 - year adventure in Italy, where he represented amongst others Lazio, Chievo Verona and Genoa.
“When I heard about China I wanted to move immediately but I chose the ambitious team over the money.
“I was briefly on trial with Crystal Palace in England but they took a player from another side in the Premiership.
“For China I had just two options really, one was Chongqing F.C. and their offer was more than double Baxy’s,” Makinwa told goal.com.
