Ayo Makinwa Admits Beijing Baxy Move Is About Money
Published: December 11, 2013Nigeria international Ayo Makinwa has now admitted that he chose to join Chinese League One club Beijing Baxy for the cash and not for footballing reasons.
Lazio’s sense of professionalism was called into question after the club leaked information to the press that Makinwa was carrying a knee injury.
Tuttomercatoweb.com citing Football Clan su Sport Uno quoted Makinwa as saying“Because I went to China? It was the only place where I had the chance to play.
“In those circumstances, I lost a lot of time. Lazio, they thought I was injured and had spread this rumour, so it was difficult getting a team.
“There was the possibility of playing in the Serie B but I did not want.
“I have chosen China, especially for the money, because I am at the end of my career and I must think about this.”
30 - year - old Makinwa penned a one - and - a - half year with Beijing Baxy this past summer.
