'Alisson was beaten' - Man Utd legend Neville reveals how close Ndidi came to scoring against Liverpool

Leicester City became the second team relegated from the Premier League, after Southampton, following a narrow 1-0 loss to champions-in-waiting Liverpool at the King Power Stadium on Easter Sunday.

Five games from the end of the season, the Foxes find themselves eighteen points adrift of seventeenth-placed West Ham United, virtually sealing their drop from the Premier League.

A goal from Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 76th minute- his first-ever left-footed finish- relegated the Foxes from the Premier League

Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi started and was in action for 83 minutes before making way for Oliver Skipp.

Walking a disciplinary tightrope after receiving a yellow card in the 70th minute, the Nigerian was substituted by Leicester City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The central midfielder came really close to breaking the deadlock in the 10th minute with a low drive after good work by Stephy Mavididi, but hit the woodwork.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Manchester United legend Gary Neville was full of praise for the exciting football displayed in a tense match, and highlighted Wilfred Ndidi's near-miss for Leicester City.

"That's really good football at both ends," Gary Neville was quoted as saying by The BBC.

"Wilfred Ndidi went really close for Leicester. He won a 50-50 with Alexis Mac Allister and hit it really. Alisson was beaten!"

Leicester City have been relegated from the Premier League for the fifth time and only Norwich City have more.

Liverpool will be crowned champions in front of their own supporters next weekend if they defeat Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal win against Crystal Palace in their midweek fixture.
