Now Obiora Nwankwo believes a revitalized Nigeria will take all three points in Porto Alegre, stating that the previous encounters should not be an indication of the outcome of the meeting.
“On paper, it seems like Argentina should be the toughest team in the group.
“I also think, right now, we have what it takes to do well against Argentina and match them with equal chances.
“The last time we met was close and they did not outplay us, but they got a narrow win.
“It can be different this time, because we now have the spirit of winning the Nations Cup with us.
“We also have more experience from playing many top matches with players doing well with their different clubs in the major leagues of Europe.
