John Ogu Reinstated To Academica Squad
Published: January 08, 2014John Ogu has been reinstated in Academica squad, a week after he was told by manager Sérgio Conceição to train on his own after arriving Portugal late for the start of practice.
The midfielder had traveled to his homeland for his sister’s wedding but a travel hitch prevented him from connecting a flight to Coimbra for the resumption of training on December 27.
Management of Academica in its wisdom has tempered justice with mercy after the Nigeria international apologized.
Meanwhile, he has been speaking on the chances of the Super Eagles in Brazil, where they are drawn in Group F alongside Argentina, Bosnia and Iran.
“Anything can happen in football so, as it is, we know that we are African champions and we are not scared of any team because we want to show the world in Brazil that we are in the world cup not to make up the numbers but to make our nation and families proud, ” says John Ogu to the online edition of Brila FM.
