Dapo-Lam, DPO, NURTW Boss Bag Sports Fans Award In Ibadan
Published: January 10, 2014In recognition of people’s contributions to the development of sports and youth oriented programme in Oyo State, a sports and entertainment Sport fans in Ibadan has finalized plan to honour some prominent personalities in an event tagged ‘Sports Fan Show’.
The event coordinating by a radio sports presenter Kola Omotosho would be held on Sunday 12th January at Awujoola Event Centre, Sasa where the acclaimed fuji King SaheedOsupa would also be at the band stand.
Five eminent Nigerians that have immensely contributed to the development of sports in Oyo State according to a release issued by Omotosho have been shortlisted for Award of Honour while sports fan would also have opportunity of rubbing shoulder with their favourites sports presenters analysts.
Among the award recipients is former Commissioner for Youths and Sport in the state, Dapo Lam-Adesina who is now with the Ministry for Industry, Applied Science, and Technology, would be recognized for his pragmatic approach during his tenure at the helms of Oyo State’s sports which yielded many notable results.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of Mokola Police Station, Akintunde Oridoye, a superintendent of Police which has Lekan Salami Sports Complex where the Ibadan darling team 3SC plays its home match under its jurisdiction would be honoured for his gallant manner which he managed security affairs during the turbulent just concluded soccer season.
Other awardees includes Ibadan South/West Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairman, Hon. Taoheed Adeleke who greatly supported 3SC by purchasing 1,000 entry tickets for soccer fans during all home games of Shooting Stars in the concluded soccer season.
The Chairman, Oyo State chapter of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), AlhajiToafeekOyerinde Popularly known as Fele would also be honoured for his astute manner he’s curtailing the youths under the union, which has allow Ibadan to enjoy a relative peace in recent times.
