Falconets Romp To 6-0 Home Win Over South Africa U20
Published: January 11, 2014Nigeria Under 20 Women humiliated their South African visitors 6-0 on Saturday, as the Peter Dedevbo managed girls kept up their seemingly unstoppable march towards qualifying for 2014 Canada U20 Women’s World Cup.
It was the second time in the qualifiers that the Patience Okaeme captained team had struck more than five times at home, thereby making Abuja National Stadium a fortress.
Bayelsa Queens forward, Yetunde Adeboyejo was in top form with two goals, fast rising Halimat Ayinde, currently on the payroll of Delta Queens also grabbed a brace.
Adeboyejo put Nigeria in front after 3 minutes, before Ayinde doubled the lead two minutes later.
Adeboyejo turned the game to a mere formality with her second goal of the match in the 26th minute of action.
Immediately after the break, substitute, Sunday Uchechi-Lopes, who came on for Loveth Ayila made an instant impact with the 4th goal of the game.
Pelican Stars midifielder Winifred Eyebhoria drilled the ball in from 16 metres, before Ayinde completed the rout.
