Taye Taiwo Left Without A Home; French Authorities Auction Mansion For Evading Taxes
Bursaspor wing-back Taye Taiwo has had his house confiscated by the authorities in France due to his failure to remit his taxes from the period 2008 - 2011.

According to a report in authoritative regional daily La Provence, the Nigeria international owed backlog of taxes of approximately one million euros.

His mansion in Marseille - complete with all the amenities including swimming pool and garden - was auctioned to a secret buyer for 405,000 euros.

But it can only be released to the new landlord after the statutory ten - day period specified.

With an annual income of around 2 million euros, Taye Taiwo had been ordered by  the Directorate of Public Finance of the PACA region to pay the outstanding liabilities totaling € 1,025, 120.29 since March 29, 2013.

Taye Taiwo has maintained that there was a misunderstanding as his bankers had a standing order to deduct his taxes from his wages.
