In front of 819 spectators, CA Bastia defeated mid table Troyes 1 - 0 on Friday evening thanks to a third minute strike by Sunday Mba.
The victory was their first home win in the second - tier since the start of this campaign.
But the Corsican outfit remain last on the Ligue 2 standings with 10 matches left to play in the championship.
25 - year - old Sunday Mba has netted 5 goals including 3 in the cup for Bastia since he switched from Warri Wolves in the winter transfer market.
The Nigeria international is under contract with the French team until June 30, 2015.
