Chinedu Obasi Gets His Mojo Back, Nets And Creates Assist In Schalke Win
Published: March 29, 2014Chinedu Obasi underlined his credentials after netting a brace and creating an assist in Schalke 04’s 2 - 0 home win over Hertha BSC on Friday evening.
The Nigeria international struck in the 16th minute to give the Royal Blues a 1 - 0 advantage and 29 seconds after the interval, Dutchman Klaas-Jan Huntelaar netted his 90th competitive goal for the team he joined in the summer of 2010.
With the win at Veltins-Arena (Gelsenkirchen) in front of over 60,000 spectators, Schalke 04 are now provisionally second in the Bundesliga standings with 54 points but they have played one game more than Borussia Dortmund in third position.
27 - year - old Chinedu Obasi has so far made 9 appearances in the German topflight this term.
The last time he reached that figure was three seasons ago while defending the colors of Hoffenheim.
