Iran Defeats Moraka Swallows 5 - 0 In Test Game
Published: April 23, 2014Iranian National Team started their World Cup preparation on a winning note following the 5 - 0 win over Moroka Swallows in a tune - up game staged in Johannesburg on Tuesday.
A brace from Karim Ansarifard and one each from Payam Sadeghian, Reza Norouzi, Mohammad-Reza Khalatbari decided the outcome of the meeting.
“Our main goal was not to get a good result in this friendly match; we wanted to identify the weak and strong points of the team. We will continue the fitness training to get players to a good level, ”coach Carlos Queiroz was quoted as saying by Tehran Times.
He went on : ““If everyone supports us I believe Iran will have a good performance in 2014 World Cup in Brazil.”
It is confirmed that the Asia powerhouse will lock horns with Mozambique, Angola, Belarus, Montenegro as well as Trinidad and Tobago ahead of the mundial.
They are in the same World Cup group alongside Nigeria, Argentina and Bosnia Herzegovina.
