Mbong, Kyrian Nwoko Named In Malta Squad For Euro Under 17s
Published: May 07, 2014Malta Under 17 Coach, Sergio Soldano has published a list of 18 players summoned for the UEFA Under 17 championship which begins in the Island Nation on Friday.
Joseph Mbong, the son of former Hibernians attacker Essien Mbong who lost his life last June, made the roster.
And joining him in attack is another player that has Nigerian blood flowing in his veins, Kyrian Nwoko of St Andrews.
Joseph Mbong’s parent are both Nigerians and the mom still lives in Malta after she lost her husband while Kyrian Nwoko has a Nigerian dad and Maltese mom.
Malta are pitted in the same group alongside England, Netherlands and Turkey.

Defenders: Daniel Buckle (Hibernians), Christian Degabriele (Pietà Hotspurs), Iousef Meli (Sliema Wanderers), Neil Spiteri (Floriana), Jean Borg (Valletta), Nick Ghio (Hibernians).
Midfielders: Connor Borg (Chievo), Juan Corbalan (Balzan), Jake Grech (Hamrun Spartans), Mark Scicluna (Sliema), Neil Tabone (Floriana), Myles Beerman (Floriana/Man. City), Matthew Guillaumier (St Andrew’s).
Forwards: Joseph Mbong (Hibernians), Kyrian Nwoko (St Andrew’s), Aidan Friggieri (Sliema Wanderers).
