Published: February 09, 2015
Olarenwaju Kayode believes that Maccabi Netanya will qualify for the Championship round of the Israeli Premier League.
The ex Flying Eagles star netted a first half brace as The Diamonds were forced to a 3 - 3 draw by current champions Maccabi Tel Aviv at the Winners Stadium on Sunday.
“What can I say, I think the 3 - 3 draw was a fair result. There are few matches before the end of the regular season, and I believe we will make the championship round.
“I am confident we well make that round because we are fighting hard and putting in our best, so I am very optimistic,” says Olarenwaju Kayode to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Kayode, who was linked with an exit from the First Division champions last month, has chalked up 8 goals in the top - tier so far this season.
“My club wanted a big offer and I believe that Maccabi Netanya needed me more, ”the Maccabi Netanya number 8 added.
At the moment, only one spot separate Maccabi Netanya from the Championship round, but they are level on 26 points with Beitar Jerusalem, who are sixth in the standings.
