Ahead of Oyo FA Election Scheduled For Wed. 25th, Electoral Boss Pledges Fairness
Published: February 23, 2015As the 11 candidate that obtained forms to vie for various positions in the Oyo State Football Association Polls scheduled Wednesday 25th at the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education Oyo, the electoral committee Chairman Mr. Oladimeji Araola Omoniyi has assured to deliver a free, fair and transparent election, with the winners and losers embracing each other
at the end of the exercises.
The retired grade one referee disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Ibadan over the weekend where he affirmed his preparedness for the poll and guaranteed the stakeholders and teeming football followers in the state, hitch-free state football election that other state can learn from.
“We have put all the machineries in motion in order to record an hitch-free exercises, may God help us. We intend to commends all the pre-voting formalities by 11:am and the voting would start moments after all in very transparent manner”, said Omoniyi.
Meanwhile, the former Oyo FA vice Chairman, Mr. James Odeniran who is now vying for the top seat in the election would have Elder Oloyede Babatunde that retired from Oyo State Sports Council about 6 years ago to contend with for the prime post.
Other candidate included Alhaji Moronkade Abiyemi from Oyo East council area of the state contesting for the position of vice chairman, while the following people: Coach Oloyede Idowu, Ayangbile Isaac Olawale, Azeez Amusa Adeniyi, Oladeni Michael, Barr. Alli Tajudeen Olurotimi. Ogunleye John Kayode, Olawuwo Babatunde Samson, a Sports journalist with Splash FM and Alh. Ganiyu Arolu.
Odeniran while speaking with the sporting press also disclosed that his numerous accomplishments as the second-in-command and during his brief stint as the acting Chairman are enough attestation to what he’s capable of doing when given the mandate to manage Oyo State football.
