According to leaks gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com’s editorial staff, Alhassan Ibrahim has been a shadow of himself at the training sessions prior to Wednesday evening’s African Youth Championship Group A fixture with Congo.
The FC Hearts pupil, who had been touted as Nigeria’s top 18 - year - old, is unlikely to get match time today at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar.
Against Senegal, the ex Kalmar and Rijeka trialist was introduced in the 67th minute, but coach Manu Garba was disappointed by his display so much so that he replaced him 12 minutes later.
It had been assumed that Alhassan Ibrahim was carrying an injury, but the word from Senegal is that he is match rusty.
The striker missed out on the 2013 Fifa Under 17s after failing the mandatory MRI scan.
