Ex Nigeria Manager Berti Vogts Appointed US National Team Technical Adviser
The United States Soccer Federation has appointed ex Nigeria manager, Berti Vogts, to be the technical adviser to the US men’s national team.

Now 68, Vogts starred for Germany at the 1974 World Cup, and was the captain of his country for two years after the iconic Franz Beckenbauer retired.

“We had a fantastic experience with Berti during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. His knowledge and experience is a tremendous asset for us.

“With [USMNT assistant and U-23 coach] Andi Herzog having a big focus on qualifying the U-23 team for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Berti will make an even more important contribution, ”  coach Jurgen Klinsmann said, according to mlssoccer.com.

Berti Vogts previously managed the national teams of Germany, Nigeria, Scotland and Azerbaijan.
