Braintree Town striker Simeon Akinola Handed Maiden England Call Up
Published: May 16, 2015Braintree Town striker Simeon Akinola has been named to the England C squad for the upcoming friendly against Republic of Ireland Under 21s.
The 22 - year - old is among 16 non - leaguers invited for the game which will be held in Galway, Ireland on June 1.
A product of Billericay Town, Akinola appeared 38 times in the Conference National this season, scoring 8 goals and clocking up 3,106 minutes in the process.
This is the first time England C boss Paul Fairclough has given an opportunity to the Anglo - Nigerian to pull on The Three Lions jersey.
Footballers below the age of 23 years that ply their trade outside the top four tiers of English football are eligible to represent England at C level.
