Carpi Star Jerry Mbakogu Delighted To Be Named To Serie B Team Of The Season

Nigerian striker Jerry Mbakogu has been recognized for the outstanding season he had with newly promoted Serie A side Carpi, with the 22 - year - old named to the ceremonial top eleven players in the second - tier.
Perhaps, if not for injury, the Lagos - born player would have scored more than 15 goals he notched in 30 matches in the concluded campaign.
“Honored to be among the best eleven of the championship as best striker.. I especially thank my teammates that I have always put in a position to express myself to the best, I share this award with them.
“I would like to thank the club, the coach and his staff, fans for the vote of confidence.
“ Finally I would like to thank my family and my few real friends who have always believed in me.. This is just the beginning,” said Jerry Mbakogu.
In the coming months, Mbakogu becomes eligible for an Italian passport but he has stated that he would love to wear the colours of Nigeria.
