Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Southend United have extended the contract of Anglo - Nigerian defender Jordan Alawode-Williams.
Despite interest from other unnamed teams in England, the 17 - year - old has put pen to paper on a fresh one - year deal with the newly - promoted League One club.
At the age of nine, Williams began his career at Arsenal before moving to fellow Londoners Charlton Athletic two years later.
The fullback spent five seasons at The Valley, then shifted to Southend United when he turned 15.
