Peppe Nkwocha Anoints Liverpool Star Asisat Oshoala Heiress To Her Throne
Published: June 03, 2015
Veteran Nigeria forward Peppe Nkwocha has tipped Liverpool star Asisat Oshoala to be a global star in the not too distant future.
Already the River Angels product has been picking up accolades, with CAF naming her the best female footballer in Africa in its most recent awards ceremony.
In addition, she appears to be popular with the fans, having been chosen the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year just over a week ago.
“Seeing Asisat play reminds me of my hey days. She has shown that she can do better than me by becoming Africa’s Best Woman Footballer at just 20 years of age and the world’s best young footballer.
“Now she has been named BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year. She is heading in the right direction and I see her being among the best in the world in no distant time.
“I will continue to pray for her so that she could last and do better in the game than I did,” said Peppe Nkwocha to thenff.com.
The 20 - year - old Oshoala, who penned a two - year deal with Liverpool Ladies in January, will be under the microscope when the World Cup begins in Canada this weekend.
