Austin Okocha Is Most Expensive African Sold by Turkish Club
Turkish sports daily Fanatik has published on its electronic edition the top 25 most expensive transfers from the Turkish Super Lig to an overseas club.

Fenerbahce dominated the list with the Yellow Canaries involved in five of the top ten transfers of all time.

Austin Okocha’s move to PSG in 1998 from the Istanbul side was third in the ranking and it remains the biggest amount paid for an African. The French team paid €12.4 million to land his signature.

Emmanuel Emenike’s transfer to Spartak Moscow from Fenerbahce came fifth. The Nigeria international completed his move to the Muscovites on July 28, 2011 for a fee of 10 million euros.

The highest transfer fee paid by a foreign team to a Turkish club is €15.6 million. Real Madrid parted with that sum to secure retired Bosnia international  Elvir Baljić from Fenerbahce in 1999.
