Nigeria Coach Goes Spiritual After Snatching Draw Against Sweden
Published: June 09, 2015
Super Falcons manager Edwin Okon has praised Nigeria’s first half performance against Sweden even though his side conceded two goals at the end of that period.
Each time the African champions hit the back of the net at Winnipeg Stadium, the Nigeria gaffer mimicked his star player Asisat Oshoala by touching the ground on his forehead and he has thanked God that his squad managed to get a point from the game.
“I feel OK after our first match. They expected to win, and at the end of the day we got a draw,” Okon stated in his post match comments.
“Prayer is a key for the Nigerian team. We praise God. That is the key. I thought in the first half we were the stronger team. ”
Former FC Sion target Ngozi was officially named Player of the Match following her impressive displays against the Swedes.
