Chinedu Obasi Hopes To Get Back To Full Fitness Before Summer Move
Published: June 18, 2015Nigeria international Chinedu Obasi has returned to Germany after spending the last few weeks in Nigeria vacationing.
At the end of this month, the Beijing 2008 Olympics silver medalist will walk away from Schalke 04 as a free agent after his contract was not renewed.
In recent years the 29 - year - old has been plagued by injuries which limited his appearances in the Bundesliga to 6 league games in 2014 so his priority now is to return to full fitness before he begins his search for a new employer.
“Chinedu Obasi went back to Germany two days ago. He just needs to get fit, he is still undergoing physiotherapy before he thinks of joining a new club,” Obasi’s representative told allnigeriasoccer.com.
The former Flying Eagles striker starred for Lyn Oslo and Hoffenheim before switching to Schalke 04 in the winter of 2012.
