Patched - Up Aaron Samuel Rues Home Loss To Henan Jianye
Published: June 24, 2015
Aaron Samuel was on target for Guangzhou R&F in the Chinese Super League on Wednesday on his return to action after picking up a minor injury in the Super Eagles 2 - 0 defeat of Chad on Saturday, June 13.
The 21 - year - old netted in the 72nd minute at the Yuexiushan Stadium, cancelling out Patino’s goal before Ivo netted the match winner for Henan Jianye three minutes from time.
“The fault was from the defense, we conceded late in the game,” Aaron Samuel told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I won a penalty in the first half and I wanted to take it but my strike partner insisted on taking it and missed. Maybe the result would have been different.
“I won’t say I am 100 percent fit but I am important to the team so I was risked. And I still played 93 minutes.”
The Nigeria international has notched 3 goals in 9 games so far this season.
