Akwa United End Poor Run With Win Against Enugu Rangers
Akwa United ended their bad patch in the Nigeria Professional Football League by overcoming Enugu Rangers 2-0 in a week 16 match on Sunday in Uyo.

Nnamso Edo and Kingsley Nathaniel were the heroes the Promise Keepers at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

After overcoming a first half of numerous misses, Edo scored the first goal for Akwa United from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute.

And Nathaniel netted in the 79th minute as Akwa United claimed victory at home.

Chances kept coming in the first half, with both teams failing to convert anything clear-cut opportunities during the opening 45 minutes as the half ended all-square.

The match came to life when Okey Odita brought down Aniekpeno Udoh in the box and Edo sent goalkeeper Itodo Akor the wrong way from the spot.

Akwa United had goalkeeper Olufemi Kayode to thank after the hour-mark, with his reflex save denying Godwin Aguda and Rangers an equaliser.

Victory was sealed for Akwa United in the 79th minute as Nathaniel scored.
