Samson Siasia Accused Of Nepotism, Allows Son To Train With Dream Team But Decamps Better Players
Nigeria Under 23s coach Samson Siasia has been accused of nepotism by some overseas - based players who were dropped from the team after undergoing a screening exercise two weeks ago.

An English - based footballer, who trained with the squad in June, was surprised that Siasia’s son, Sean Siasia, was not decamped by the Dream Team VI coach despite not measuring up to his own standard.

“I came from England to be unfairly assessed. What Nigeria did is really unfair. I found out that it is not based on talent that Siasia picks his team,” the player, who wishes to remain anonymous in order not be victimized, told allnigeriasoccer.com.

“One of the coaches said to me, “You are a very good player and I feel bad for you because the way we run our system here doesn’t allow us to work with players like you’. Siasia has his agenda already.”

He added : “Siasia’s son, Sean Siasia, who can’t play is with the team up until now.

“He is not part of the squad named for the qualifier against Congo but with the team and trains with them. I guess because his dad is coach.

“At training some of the coaches call Sean Messi and Golden Boy just to impress his dad. It’s disappointing and shows lack of professionalism.

“I am better than him by far, that is what has really demoralized me about the whole thing.”

The Dream Team will tackle Congo in Africa U23 Championship qualifier this weekend in Port Harcourt, and coach Samson Siasia was not available for comments.
