Paul Onuachu Makes Champions League Debut As FCM Exit Competition
Published: August 05, 2015
Nigeria Under 23 international Paul Onuachu was in action for the last nine minutes in FC Midtjlland’s 1 - 0 win over APOEL Nicosia in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
But the Danish SuperLiga champions crashed out of the competition after losing 2 - 1 in the first leg held at the MCH Arena a week ago.
Onuachu did not get game time in the last three games contested by FCM in the Champions League prior to his debut appearance against APOEL in Cyprus.
Super Eagles left back Elderson Echiejile sat out Monaco’s 4 - 0 win over Young Boys (Switzerland) as expected.
Nosa Igiebor (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Abdul Ajagun (Panathinaikos), Efe Ambrose (Celtic) and Manuel Akanji ( FC Basel) are in line to play for their respective clubs on Wednesday.
