Fasehun,Jorgor Back 2nd Oduduwa U-15 Soccer Tourney
Published: August 17, 2015The second National Under-15 Soccer Championship instituted by Organization for Grassroots Sports Development (OGSD) to celebrate the Yoruba progenitor has attracted interest from the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Engr. Femi Babalola popularly known as Jorgor.
The National leader of Odua People’s Congress (OPC) Dr. Fredrick Fasheun has also pledged his total support for the tourney slated for 18th to 25th August Ogbomoso Township stadium, Ogbomoso.
The Ibadan based civil engineer who is to be investitured as the Patron of the body during the grand finale of the event according to the President of OGSD, the body that is organizing the tourney, Alhaji Raji Oladimeji has boosted the event with cash support.
Also speaking ahead of the soccer tournament which would draw participants from every part of the country, Dr. Fasheun disclosed that the event has a significant connotation to the ideals of the OPC hence deserved the support of the socio-cultural body, describing soccer as a good tool to engage the pupils during the schools’ long vacation.
OGSD boss also added that the national tournament is fast getting support of lovers of Yoruba heritage and that is why the body is striving to sustain it as an annual sporting event in honour of the founding father of Yoruba race.
He hinted that Nigeria Football Association (NFF) has assigned the national Under -15 Coach to attend the tourney with and scout for exceptional talent that could join the national camp from the competition.
