Published: August 26, 2015
Slovenian PrvaLiga rave of the moment, Blessing Eleke, has been rewarded for his brilliant start to the season, with Samson Siasia inviting him to the Dream Team ahead of next month’s All - Africa Games.
The competition is outside the Fifa calender for international matches but the Nigeria Football Federation are pleading with ND Gorica to release their striker.
“The NFF invited me but my club have not yet allowed me go, the game is not on the official calender, ” said Blessing Eleke to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“We are still discussing to see whether they will release me. I would love to represent Nigeria at the All - Africa Games, it’s the dream of every player to represent the national team.
“I am very happy to be invited, it is not easy to get this recognition but I worked hard for it. ”
Assuming Blessing Eleke is allowed to represent Nigeria and Siasia’s charges qualify for the semi - finals, he will miss Gorica’s game against defending champs Maribor plus the big clash with Olimpija on September 18.
The Flying Sport Academy product is the joint highest goalscorer in the top flight with 5 goals to his name after 7 rounds.
