Werder Bremen Striker Ujah Eyes Future Super Eagles Invitations
Published: September 04, 2015Anthony Ujah, 24, has targeted more invitations to the national team, having missed out on the 2014 Fifa World Cup despite representing the country at the Confederations Cup the previous year.
The Werder Bremen striker has declared that playing in the German Bundesliga will count in his favour as new Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh is aware of the pedigree of the championship, having represented Cologne, Borussia Dortmund and VfL Bochum during his playing days.
“Sunday Oliseh played in the German Bundesliga, so I hope that will speak for me, ” Ujah told fifa.com.
“He is well informed because the German league is not a small league. It is the league where the world champions came from.”
The former Lillestrom and Cologne hero has made five appearances for the Super Eagles and has racked up 266 minutes of playing time.
