Obafemi Martins In The Running For MLS Goal Of The Week Award

Designated Player Obafemi Martins is in the running for the Goal of the Week Award for the last round of matches in Major League Soccer.
In his bid to win the accolade, the Seattle Sounders marksman is up against Michael Barrios ( FC Dallas), Didier Drogba (Montreal Impact), Diego Fagundez (New England Revolution) and Conor Casey (Philadelphia Union).
The Nigeria international was nominated for his sixth minute strike in Seattle Sounders 2- 1 win against Toronto on Sunday morning.
As for the ceremonial Team of the Week which was announced today, Obafemi Martins was among the seven players that made the bench.
The 30 - year - old forward has won the Goal of the Week award three times this season.
