Dominic Egbukwu And French Agent Sue Nigeria U17s Coach Amuneke For $560,000 Over Transfer Of Chidiebere Nwakali To Manchester City
Former Enyimba player Dominic Egbukwu and French - based agent Oliver Noah of Noga Sports Management have taken Nigeria Under 17s coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, to court over the fraudulent transfer of Chidiebere Nwakali to Manchester City in 2014.

After the 2013 Fifa Under 17 World Cup, Emmanuel Amuneke Academy had claimed to be in the possession of the midfielder’s sporting rights, whereas Taye Academy were the bonafide owners, and issued a mandate to Egbukwu and his French partner to act on their behalf in negotiating a transfer to Man City as well as Marseille, Inter Milan, Arsenal and Monaco.

But the Golden Eaglets manager failed to comply with the agreement reached with the two intermediaries and contacted Manchester City to call off negotiations with Noga Sports Management despite the mandate, which was for 15 days, yet to expire.

We were about concluding the transfer of Chidiebere Nwakali to Manchester City, only for Emmanuel Amuneke to go behind us and collect the transfer fee from Manchester City, ” said Dominic Egbukwu to allnigeriasoccer.com.

“He collected the first transfer fee when the player signed a pre - contract, when he turned 18 and signed the contract he collected the last one.

“This ( sale of players) is what Emmanuel Amuneke has been doing in the national team but he has been caught. He has to pay us all the money that he collected from Man City, we have documents he gave to us.

Dominic Egbukwu, Oliver Noah and the Nigeria Police would not have sued the Nigeria Under 17s manager but he failed to honour several invitations as the law enforcement agency attempted to settle the dispute out of court.

Dominic Egbukwu added :
“The investigation has been on for a year, the Police has been inviting him to Zone 2, Onikan to report to answer questions, he refused to report.

“The Police sent documents to the Nigeria Football Federation but he still refused to respond. We have sued him for breach of contract while the Police sued him for criminal breach of contract.

“They have been looking for Amuneke to arrest him but they couldn’t get him because he was involved in national assignments.

The Ikoyi High Court has ruled that Emmanuel Amuneke must appear in court on December 7 to answer to charges of breach of contract and could be forced to pay a maximum of =N=112 million ( equivalent of $560,000 ) if found guilty. The case number is  LD/766CMW/2015.
