Teammates, Coach Criticize Dele Aiyenugba Over Poor Form
Published: September 29, 2015
Bnei Yehuda netminder Dele Aiyenugba was the subject of criticism in the wake of his side’s 3 - 1 loss to Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League on Monday.
An unnamed player blamed the Nigeria international for the cheap goals conceded , adding that the players work their socks off but the goalkeeper always let the team down.
“Dele always distributes gifts, he is the heart on the field and every week he makes mistakes in his duties, ” the player told one.co.il
But coach Yossi Abukasis has leapt to the defense of Aiyenugba, who was criticized earlier in the season after the 2 - 0 loss to Hapoel Acre.
“I do not want to talk about my players. Dele also had good games this year, that’s part of soccer and even now. I hope he will learn from those mistakes and move on,” said the manager to the Israeli website.
In 5 outings this term, the Nigerian goalie has let in 9 goals, the highest number of goals conceded in the top flight.
