Arsenal Young Star Alex Iwobi Eager To Make Nigeria Debut
Published: October 06, 2015Arsenal striker Alex Iwobi was one of the players called - up for the
international friendlies in Vise & Dendermonde that practiced with
the Super Eagles squad on Monday evening.
For agreeing to snub England for Nigeria, it is thought that the Nigeria Federation decided to compensate the teenager in a big way, by inviting him to the senior national team straight away.
Nonetheless, those games against DRC and Cameroon are not competitive, meaning Iwobi can still play for England in future on the proviso that he does not earn caps for the Super Eagles in official games.
“Got to Belgium safely and trained with the squad, looking forward to the week #SuperEagles, ”Alex Iwobi said via social media.
With the home - based players yet to travel to Belgium on Tuesday morning and the status of Vincent Enyeama and Godfrey Oboabona unclear, everything is pointing to the fact the Hale End product will be given a run out in at least one of the friendlies.
