Eddy Onazi Elected Assistant Skipper Of Super Eagles
Published: October 09, 2015
Super Eagles players have voted Lazio midfielder Eddy Onazi as the assistant captain of the national team, the Nigeria Football Federation has announced through official sources.
Two other players were appointed on Friday to assist skipper Ahmed Musa in the discharge of his duties.
Recuperating Chelsea loanee Kenneth Omeruo will be the second vice captain of the squad while Celtic defender Efe Ambrose has also been handed an administrative role as spokesperson.
Though Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel was not handed any role, Sunday Oliseh recently suggested that he is the de facto leader of the team even though Ahmed Musa is the substantive skipper following the retirement of Vincent Enyeama from the national team.
