Nigeria Miss Out On Dele Alli As Spurs Midfielder Makes Competitive England Debut
England manager Roy Hodgson gave Anglo - Nigerian midfielder Dele Alli his senior international debut in his team’s 2 - 0 win over Estonia at Wembley on Friday night.

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley , who is of Nigerian descent, played 87 minutes of the match before making way for Tottenham Hotspur’s Alli.

Dele Alli’s appearance today for the Three Lions means his international fate is sewn up as he can no longer represent Nigeria because the tie against Estonia was a competitive one.

Born in Milton Keynes 19 years ago, the youngster amassed 17 caps for the youth teams of England before he was handed a call - up for the 2016 European Championship qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania.

Ross Barkley was named the most outstanding player on the pitch, picking up the Man of the Match award at the end of the contest versus Estonia.
